Jill Corr PhotographyWelcome to my website! The photos you see here were taken throughout New England, specifically around my residence in Mystic, Connecticut. My family and I moved to this area about 20 years ago. Since then I have come to discover the beauty of living on the water and seeing gorgeous vistas from not only my back door but almost everywhere I travel. Mystic CT was founded in 1620. The Pequot Indian tribe were the first inhabitants of the area. It was told to me by an elderly fur trapper they likely lived on the property I now own. Ship building was the leading business of the area and the Mystic Seaport boasts a world famous aquarium and museum. Famous whaling ships from the area have been restored at the Seaport, perhaps the most recent and notable being the Charles W Morgan, which you will see photos of in this album. According to the Mystic River Historical Society, the name "Mystic" is derived from the Pequot term "missi-tuk", describing a large river whose waters are driven into waves by tides or wind. I reside on those water and you will see them in many of the following photos at every season. |

Photography is a fun hobby. My interest began several years ago when I started doing volunteer work and traveling overseas. I found the people I met besides places I visited too beautiful to forget so I took as many photographs as possible. Then I learned photo editing and did some self study. "Digital photography for Dummies" was my bible. Online tutorials through photoshop were also helpful. So were patient friends who had much more experience than me at this wonderful art. I'm still learning.
